Weekly Update

GCN Family,

What a Resurrection Sunday that was this past Sunday! From the great turnout for the Egg Hunt, to the packed house, to the powerful worship, and those 7 baptisms…God is so good! Like heaven on earth. Well, guess what. Jesus is STILL Risen! And He is STILL in the business of resurrecting lives, and families, and marriages, and our city and neighborhoods. I have no doubt that God, by His Spirit, is moving in mighty ways in us and through us.

My prayer for us: Lord, help us not to merely celebrate Your Resurrection once a year. Fill us with your Resurrecting power, which is your Holy Spirit. We need you all day, every day. Amen.

Other Things…

  • Pastor Lauren will be receiving her District Minister’s License this Sunday evening at 6:30pm at the Hilton Baltimore BWI (1739 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum Heights, MD). You’re invited! This will be the closing worship service for our church’s District Assembly. We’re grateful for God’s call on Pastor Lauren’s life! To catch the livestream of that service, you can CLICK HERE.

  • This Sunday morning, we begin a new series: Practicing Resurrection. The biggest evidence for the resurrection of Jesus is not you telling me that Jesus is alive. The biggest evidence is a family of people whose lives are ordered like Jesus as we are filled with the Resurrecting Power of Christ (aka The Holy Spirit). When we pray for God’s Kingdom to come right here as in heaven, we’re practicing resurrection. When you love the lonely, you are practicing resurrection. When you work to make the wrong things in the world right, you are practicing resurrection. Because Jesus is alive, all things are possible. Don’t put a period where God puts a comma! If you invited someone to join you on Easter, I would encourage you to invite them back with you this Sunday.

  • Mid-Atlantic District Advance. This weekend is our church’s District Assembly. This is when people from over 100 churches across Maryland, Deleware, DC, and parts of PA and WV gather, worship, celebrate what God is doing, and even vote on a few items. If you would like to tune into the worship services, they will be livestreamed HERE. Be praying for our district leaders and our own GCN delegates this weekend.

Much Love,

Pastor Brian
