Scripture = God-breathed

Hi Church Family,

I love books. The bible, however, is in a category by itself. “All scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Tomorrow, we continue in our series, We Believe. The big question will be this: What do we believe about the Bible? For those who follow Jesus, the goal is not only to get into God’s Word. The goal is for God’s Word to get into us. We pray that the story of scripture – the story of a God who is making all things new and Who calls us into that mission – is interwoven with our story!

As we prepare to worship our Savior together tomorrow, consider these practices:
  1. Take time to pray. Ask God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to fill you afresh. Pray also for the people who are in your life (neighbors? Co-workers? Family members? Classmates?) who are especially in need of receiving the life and salvation of Jesus. Pray for opportunities to share His love.
  2. Read and reflect on 2 Timothy 3:15-17. What do you notice? What does this show us about the purpose of Scripture?
  3. Invite someone to join you tomorrow. I believe that each of us have people in our lives who are desperate for a place to belong. The church is that place, by the power of the Spirit, and in the name of Jesus. Send that text, make that phone call.
  4. If you’ve not already done so, prayerfully consider making a Faith Promise Pledge. Click Here to access that online Pledge Card.
One other thing: Tomorrow, we welcome 11 new members into the GCN Family. God is good!

Much Love,

Pastor Brian
