Wednesday 11/15

Hi Church Family,

This Sunday is shaping up to be a big one at GCN! Who are you inviting to join you this Sunday for our Worship Service at 10:30am and our Turkey Dinner immediately after? Really looking forward to that time together. We’ll be dedicating a few babies, and we’ll be continuing in our We Believe series. Here’s the big idea this week: We believe God is Holy. So, what does that mean for us?

Church Leadership Election is this Sunday. All GCN Members are invited to vote for 2024 Board Members, Ministry Team Leaders, and Delegates to Mission Advance. God has blessed us with wonderful leaders. Let’s be praying for God’s guidance and discernment. In this email, you’ll receive a Sample Ballot. Look that over, then come ready to vote in-person on Sunday. For those who are unable to attend in person this Sunday, you can email officeadmin@gburngaz.org to receive a link for online voting.

Practical Tips for Bible Reading. The goal is not to get through Scripture; it’s to get Scripture through us. That’s what we looked at this past Sunday. I want to revisit some simple and practical tips when it comes to bible reading:
  1. Get a Daily Bible Reading Plan. I use the Daily Lectionary Readings. That is a plan that millions of followers of Christ all around the world are reading. I like it because it reminds us that we are connected to something bigger.
  2. Download the YouVersion Bible App on your phone. If you have a phone, you might as well have the bible on your phone! For Android Users, you can Click Here to find it. For iPhone users, you can Click Here. If you click on the bottom middle tab in that App, you can search for seemingly endless bible reading plans.
  3. Remember, the goal is to be shaped by the story of God. The goal is not to just read it, but to pray it and to live it. At the end of the day, God’s not going to say “Well read!” or “Well studied!” He’s going to say, “Well done!”
.
Bottom line: get into God’s Word, and get God’s Word into you.

Engage in God’s Mission in our neighborhood and around the world.
  1. If you haven’t had a chance to make a Faith Promise pledge yet, I encourage you to prayerfully consider that! Those funds go towards the mission of the church around the world, serving those who Christ calls us to. CLICK HERE for that Pledge Card.
  2. There are so many great ways to serve through GCN in our neighborhood. CLICK HERE to see those opportunities, and then choose one and submit to learn more or to join.

Much Love,

Pastor Brian
