Turkeys / Babies / Elections

Hi Church Family,

Turkey Feast is tomorrow! Who will you invite to join you for our 10:30am worship service and that wonderful lunch right after the service? Send that text, make that call. Some other things we’re looking forward to tomorrow:
  • Leadership Election. We’ll be voting for Board Members, Ministry Team Leaders, and Delegates to our church’s District Assembly (called “Mission Advance”). See the attached Sample Ballot. All members, 15 and older, can vote before or after the worship service in the foyer. Prayerfully consider that, and let’s be praying for our leaders into this next year.
  • Baby Dedications. Dedicating babies to the Lord is one of the most beautiful things we can do when we gather as a church. It is a sign of God’s grace at work in our lives before we even have knowledge of it. Plus, it’s an opportunity for our church to say, “yes, we are coming alongside this family!”

As we prepare for our time together tomorrow and as we continue our We Believe series, I would encourage you to do these things:
  1. Read Isaiah 6:1-8 and Matthew 8:1-4. What do these 2 passages show us about God’s holiness? If human uncleanness and God’s holiness cannot mix, then how was Jesus (who is God) able to touch that man with leprosy (who is unclean)?
  2. Pray that God, through His Holy Spirit, would fill you afresh and reveal anything that is not pleasing to Him. He is so faithful.
  3. Pray for your church family. God wants to fill us with His Spirit, so that we can be empowered to share His love those around us who are desperate for it. Are we hungry for this move of the Holy Spirit? Are we praying for that? I would invite you to join me in praying this simple prayer: Come, Holy Spirit. Fill us. Cleanse us. Empower us. Form us into Christlikeness, for the sake of the world around us. Amen.

Much love,

Pastor Brian
