| 22 | Nazarene Missions International (NMI): Attention all GCN folks with a heart for missions! There will be a meeting of the NMI Council (our world mission leadership team) and Mission Team Leaders on Saturday from 10:00 until noon at GCN. We will be looking ahead to 2011, sharing plans for several mission trips and coordinating other efforts in the areas of missions and compassionate ministry, both globally and locally. While all of these meetings are always open to everyone, we are especially encouraging anyone who has any interest in or questions about the areas of GCN ministry to come to this meeting! We are always open to fresh ideas and perspectives. |
| 28-29 | District Festival of Life: In a world full of darkness, let's illuminate the night with a showcase of talents that highlight the positive aspects of our students and our relationship with Christ. District Festival of life will take place during a single weekend this year -- January 28th-29th -- at Bel Air Church of the Nazarene. This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage your students to explore the gifts that God has given each, while having a blast hanging out with teens from all across the Mid-Atlantic district! 30 Hour Famine (with Hagerstown and Frederick Nazarene!) Be a part of this wonderful event which raises money for children in Malawi who are suffering from starvation. The goal is for each student to raise $30 by the date of the 30 Hour Famine event. We will then go 30 Hours without food (to experience solidarity with those who go much longer than 30 hours with no food), and will fill that time together with worship, games, and serving others. This is an overnight event, and all students will need to complete a Medical Release form to participate. Let Pastor Brian know if you plan to attend. |

| 8 | Mother's Day Begin Baby Bottle Campaign.This annual effort to benefit the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center ends June 19, Father's Day. Pick up a bottle in the foyer and fill it with your spare change. This will benefit women who are in need of life affirming alternatives to abortion. Thank you for your support! |

Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. Ladies, join us in the multipurpose room for dessert, fellowship and a talk by author, Leslie Dean - "So you have forgiven, but are you healed?" about the journey of woundedness to healing. | 26-27 | Women of Faith Imagine Conference at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. GCN has secured reservations for a group of floor seats for the event. The ticket price remains the same as last year, $89.00. A deposit of $20 per ticket is required to reserve your seating. Full payment is required by June 1. Reserved overnight accommodations are also available at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 9th Street. Please contact Paulette Bunker to reserve your event ticket/room reservation. |

Labor Day Sunday Worship Service and Picnic: We enjoyed being outside in our Father's world for worship this past Sunday for our 3rd annual Labor Day Service! And the food following the service wasn't bad either :) Thanks again to all those who made a great service and a great picnic possible! Richard will be updating us on the status of the Genesis Center and discussing our partnership with El Centro Church of the Nazarene in serving these "least of the least".
