    We honored our high school graduates yesterday in services at GCN (check out the attachment with those grads listed)! That’s always one of my favorite services! A young band led us in worship and offered up songs to God and to us. Pastor Brian prayed for each grad individually. We broke bread together afterward in the Life Center. It was sweet! Thanks to all those who made a special morning like that possible!

    One of the passages I shared comes from Jeremiah 6:16 — “This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths. Ask where the good way is and walk in it and you will find rest for your souls.'”

  • Pentecost Sunday

    This Happy Monday was preceded by a Happy Sunday with a couple of GCN firsts — a Nigerian-style infant baptism complete with a singing processional of family and friends making their way up to the front of the sanctuary with that beautiful baby girl. It was awesome and encouraging and beautiful!

  • The Church as Mother

    On the heels of Mother’s Day, I read this recently about the role of the church in “giving birth” to children, in seeing people saved and nurtured in their faith. Just as certainly as the family is that unit in which children are born and nurtured, so the church is that family in which we are born again and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
