GCN has 33 members plus 5 additional brothers and sisters in Christ from other churches, including teens and adults, committed to going on a mission trip to Honduras in July 2008. Imagine what God will do if our team is covered in prayer for all 216 hours of the trip. Find out about our Prayer Vigil.

We would like to thank EVERYONE who has contributed thus far to help benefit the upcoming Honduras mission trip. What a difference the BODY OF CHRIST makes! As of June 19, 2008 we have had over 305 people who have contributed financially in support of this trip. And the list of those who have contributed in other ways is even bigger! THANK YOU friends, family, and community for the love and support you have already shown. God has already done incredible things in our midst. We just can't wait to see what else He has in store for us and for those whom we will serve in Honduras. We look forward to thanking EVERYONE on Sunday, June 29 when we send the team off. Until then, know that each of you and what you've done is greatly appreciated.

Vision Statement

Our desire is to go to Honduras and serve humbly with a passionate love that can only come from Christ. We understand that we will be uncomfortable and stretched beyond what we think we can handle, but may we come to know and recognize that with God, all things are possible. We want our team to grasp the reality that when we serve ‘the least of these’ we not only look directly into the face of God himself, but we are participating in the fellowship of sharing in Christ’s sufferings. We pray that our faith in Jesus will grow like never before and we’ll be able to claim that faith without action is dead.

Mission Statement

Older children at orphanage looking in at the nursery

The mission is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love the people we will serve as ourselves. Our desire is to imitate Jesus’ behavior knowing that he did not come to be served, but to serve and to save the lost. We want to acknowledge that we have been freely given so much and we would like to freely give to others. Our goal is to care for orphans and widows, feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, give a stranger a ride, clothe people who need clothing, and care for the sick.

Medical: Provide medical care for people within the community. Good medical care is not available for most people we will be visiting. Our team is blessed with 7 nurses who will provide medical clinics for impoverished communities.
